We want everyone to feel safe, welcome, and confident on the rink. These rules help create a smooth flow so skaters of all levels can enjoy their time without unnecessary bumps or close calls. Our skate guards are here to help—if they check in with you, it’s simply to keep the rink safe for everyone. Safety gear is available with rentals and always recommended. If you’re new to skating or feeling nervous about stepping onto the main rink, please ask a staff member for support. Helping first-timers find their rhythm is part of what we love to do.

Check Your Skates

• Clean your wheels
• Ensure your brake, toe stops or jam plugs are in good condition
• Check for loose nuts and bolts
• Ask House of Skate or NERD Roller Skates staff for help adjusting your skates
• If your skate setup could damage the floor or is determined to be unsafe House of Skate reserves the right to refuse use on the skate floor
